Because the hotel consists of a tall central tower and two wings outstretched like arms, the guest rooms offer spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay, the city, the surrounding hills and the ocean.   While the views are magnificent, the rooms themselves are all nicely appointed and there is a great selection of room types to choose from.  Whether you prefer a standard room, a view room, or for that special occasion choose from a selection of our 32 unique suites, there is something for everyone.

Standard rooms
Standard rooms are on lower floors with neighborhood/limited city views. King bed or two double beds are available in rooms with 312 square feet of space.

Deluxe rooms 
Deluxe rooms are mid-level to top floors of the hotel with city views and views of San Francisco.  King bed or two double beds are available in rooms with 324 square feet of space.

View rooms 
View rooms are on the top floors of the hotel, with some of our best views of the Golden Bridge or Bay Bridge. King bed or two double beds are available in rooms with 364 square feet of space.

Executive Rooms
One large L-shaped room with a king bed and a sitting area; these rooms have a beautiful downtown San Francisco view.  Executive rooms offer 551 square feet. 

Junior Suite
Junior Suites have a bedroom with a king bed and a separate parlor with a sitting area, a dining table and a limited/city view. The suite has a marble bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Junior suites are 551 square feet.

One Bedroom Suite
One king bedroom and separate parlor with sitting area and dining area with chandelier: Corner city views; separate whirlpool bath and shower in a full marble bathroom. Corner Suites offer a total of 676 square feet.

Jacuzzi Suite
This 16th floor suite is also known as the Honeymoon suite since it holds the largest Jacuzzi tub in the hotel and looks directly towards the Golden Gate, it has a his and her separate shower. The Suite also has an outdoor terrace in the hotel and is great place for the first breakfast as a married couple.  The suite offers 534 square feet without the terrace (enclosed solarium 100sq ft) Patio 268 sq ft.

Terrace Suite
One king bedroom with separate parlor with sitting area and glass-enclosed terrace with city and/or Bay views; separate whirlpool bath and shower. Perhaps our most famous suites with 880 square feet and some of the best views in the hotel can be had in the beautiful terrace. 

Large Terrace Suite
Similar to the Terrace Suite but with a larger parlor (includes a dining table) and a larger terrace; separate whirlpool bath and shower in the marble bathroom; City and Bay views. This suite is also available with a connecting deluxe room with two double beds, making it a great two bedroom suite for families.

Outside Terrace Suite
Similar to the Terrace Suite but with an outside patio that has a glass windbreaker that you can admire the beautiful bay and city views which includes Grace Cathedral partial views of the Golden Gate and Alcatraz Island. One king bedroom with separate parlor walk in closet his and her sinks and shower, separate whirlpool bath in the marble bathroom.

Cyril Magnin Suite
Our Luxury Cyril Magnin Suite is very famous, and is one of the only suites that kept its name during the last renovation.  A black marble floor leads to a parlor room, decorated with a tasteful Asian accent.  This room offers an oversize desk, as well as seating for at least five people comfortably.  A Terrace room adjoins, seating three, and offering extensive views of Alcatraz, the Trans America pyramid, and the Bay Bridge.  Attaching is a cozy dining room seating four at a round oak table.  The bedroom has a king size bed, and leads to a spectacular bathroom, which itself offers views of Alcatraz island.   A large bathtub with whirlpool jets equipped with a European detaching bath handle, as well as a shower make up the bathroom's amenities.  Also attaching to the suite is a massive walk-in closet, and another half bathroom.

Mark Hopkins Suite
Located on the 16th floor, the one or two bedroom Mark Hopkins Suite features walnut wood wall paneling in the living and dining areas.  Offset by a taupe carpet with a dramatic leaf pattern in black.  Accents in soft greens run throughout the suite, including the marble fireplace, the grand landscape painting, and the patterned silk-upholstered furniture.  One bedroom with its canopy bed and furniture upholstered in soft buttery yellow provides a restful transition from the central room to the solarium with the outdoor patio.  A very special feature of the Mark Hopkins Hotel and unique in San Francisco, is the private roof garden with spectacular 240-degree views of the City.  A spacious bathroom includes a Jacuzzi tub with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.  A second bedroom opposite the central room has a King size bed and is decorated in matching taupe and coffee colors. This suite has a total of 1352 square feet.

Presidential Suite
An elegant 17th floor two-bedroom suite with an outstanding view of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and the Oakland/Berkeley hills. A large dining room table (seats 8) and chandelier share the parlor room with a seating area for about 8 more. The Master bedrooms has a King bed and a large bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and a standing shower. The second bedroom with two double beds is on the other side of the parlor/dining room and has another Jacuzzi and standing shower. This suite has a total of 1510 square feet.

California Suite
Majestically overlooking San Francisco, the bay and Oakland the California suite is on the 18th floor of the hotel. The entrance to the suite is a large hallway with a half bath. One way leads to a private dining room that has a large table for six. The other direction leads to the parlor room that can accommodate 10 adults and provide stunning views of the city lights.  The suite offers two bedrooms separate form the parlor and dining rooms by another hallway. The Master Bedroom has a king bed and an oversized bathroom with Jacuzzi and standing shower. The other bedroom has two double beds and another Jacuzzi and standing shower.  Both rooms offer more stunning San Francisco views. The suite has a total of 2240 square feet.

Penthouse Suite
Penthouse suite takes advantage of its location in the building and atop Nob Hill with three picture windows along the east side, immediately drawing guests to the breathtaking views of the city and the bay. Retaining the original 1926 wood wall-paneling and built-in bookcases, the living room draws on a rich golden-yellow color scheme and wooden and golden design accents throughout. Loveseats and overstuffed chairs are grouped together to take advantage of the stunning vista. The Dining room features the same downtown/bay view as the living room and with an adjacent pantry makes this suite ideal for small, intimate gatherings.  The bedroom in this suite is impressively spacious with a king-size bed. It is decorated in mellow garden greens with vine-patterned silk wallpaper and carpet, and leaf-patterned drapes. The expansive bathroom, featuring forest green / black Italian and Spanish marble, includes a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower cabin. The Penthouse suite has 1650 square feet. It is also possible to reserve the both the California and Penthouse suite together as a 3 bedroom suite occupying the entire 18th floor for $7750 per night.
